Because the samba package does not provide this file, one needs to create it before starting smb.service. I didn’t have to do that. There was a config file already in etc/samba.Apr 11, 2020 · I have fixed the problem by downgrading samba to 4.15.6-1 on the server and smbclient to 4.15.6-1 on the client, both running Arch Linux.
